The property has been modernised and designed with the "less able" in mind. Although the house and land are set on a gentle slope of around 10:1, all areas of the house and gardens are accessible without the need of using any steps.
The en-suite bathrooms are of a "wet area" design with gently sloping tiled floors. The width of all doors and shower access areas exceeds 780mm, the height of all light switches are 1300mm, all door handles are of the lever type, the toilet seat height is 450mm, the sink height is 810mm with no under sink storage or vanity unit to hinder access and all bathroom tap-ware are single lever taps.
Outside of the house, hard surface sealed pathways provide access to the sealed parking area, covered smoking area and garden. The vegetable garden has wide mulched pathways. The wooden deck at the rear of the house is accessible without steps from the breakfast room but has steps leading directly down to the garden. These can be by-passed by accessing the garden and/or smoking area from the front door of the Bed & Breakfast.
