Tahune Adventures
Experience a bird’s eye view of the world above the forest floor walking among the treetops past rare species, some found only in Tasmania. The walkway rises up to 48 metres above the ground and extends for around half a kilometre over the Tahune State Forest and Picton River.
Hartz Mountains
Hartz Mountains National Park, dotted with tarns and fragile cushion plants, provides sweeping views of the south-west wilderness all the way to the Southern Ocean.
Bruny Island
Bruny Island is an island of surprises – gentle countryside and wild coastlines, quiet beaches and roaring surf, lighthouses, farmhouses, and a rich heritage of sealers, whalers and explorers. There are many spectacular cliff-top walks in South Bruny National Park, while at The Neck Game Reserve you can see little penguins and shearwaters in great numbers on twilight tours in the breeding season.
Hastings Caves & Thermal Springs
Formed some 40 million years ago, these great dolomite caves were discovered in 1917 by timber workers. Join a guided tour through the large cavern and discover spectacular subterranean formations including flowstone, stalactites, columns, shawls, straws, stalagmites and helictites. Swim in the thermal pool, fed by a natural spring at around 28 degrees, surrounded by forest and ferns.

Bird Watching
There are many birds in the Far South region to be enjoyed by the quiet observer, including Superb Fairy Wrens, White-bellied Sea-Eagles, Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos, New Holland Honeyeaters and Tawny Frogmouths, to name but a few.

Salamanca Market
Enjoy the sights, sounds, flavours, action and colour of Australia’s best outdoor market. Cockle Creek
A short stroll around the foreshore takes you to a whale sculpture and interpretation sign explaining the bay’s whaling history. Continue to the Fishers Point Navigation Light and Pilot Station Ruins, or take the well-marked track to South East Cape for stunning cliff-top views of the Southern Ocean and Maatsuyker Island.
MONA
MONA houses Australia’s largest private modern art collection, that of collector and philanthropist David Walsh. It features the permanent, but evolving, Monanism exhibition in addition to a range of changing exhibitions.
